This is a casual gathering… no vendors\, no sponsors\, just throwing a blanket on the grass somewhere near the splash pad and the playground. There’s no agenda\, although we might bring a handout or two. Let’s share our experiences\, discuss our needs\, our skills\, talents and explore the meaning of a “pod.” Why is it a “pride picnic?” We hope attendees of the parade will take the opportunity to sit and share their unique perspectives as members and/or allies of our local LGBTQ+ community. MAMA seeks to “cultivate community” and create connection\, so it makes sense to create an opportunity to “debrief” after the parade. If you have kiddos\, bring swimsuits so they can play in the splash pad while we relax. Bring a snack to share or just pack a lunch for yourself. Like all things MAMA\, it is what YOU make it.
