SUMMARY:Adventure Ink and Pink Shamrocks are teaming up for this fun kids event as part of Milan in Motion's Arts and Trades theme for August.

Price: $15.00 per child (includes book and art instruction)

Children age 5 and up will create a one of a kind art piece to take home and their own copy of "Ish" by award winning writer Peter H. Reynolds. Melissa from Adventure Ink will read the story and Rita from Pink Shamrocks will guide your young artist based on what they learned from the book.

About Ish:

Ramon loved to draw. Anytime. Anything. Anywhere. Drawing is what Ramon does. It's what makes him happy. But in one split second\, all that changes. A single reckless remark by Ramon's older brother\, Leon\, turns Ramon's carefree sketches into joyless struggles. Luckily for Ramon\, though\, his little sister\, Marisol\, sees the world differently. She opens his eyes to something a lot more valuable than getting things just "right." Combining the spare-ness of fable with the potency of parable\, Peter Reynolds shines a bright beam of light on the need to kindle and tend our creative flames with care. A creative spirit learns that thinking "ish-ly" is far more wonderful than "getting it right. Recommended for ages 5 and up.

Important Info:

Adults (parents/guardians) are welcome to observe while the children explore art creativity and listen to the story reading. Our classroom has limited capacity and seating for 15 children. Adults will need to stand . If you are unable to stand\, we can make accommodation for you outside of the classroom. If you choose not to observe\, we have wonderful restaurants and a bakery where you can wait. Kindly arrive promptly at 3:30 pm to pick up your child.

Please park in the Wabash Street lot. You may enter the classroom through the back door. This entrance is handicap accessible.



Class starts promptly at 2:00 pm. Kindly arrive 15 minutes early for sign in and to allow your child time to settle in.



If your child needs an accomodation to participate\, please contact Pink Shamrocks at 734-612-3586 at least 5 days prior to the event. We will see if we can make a reasonable accommodation.
