Specialty Program Day: Junior Arborist Adventures (July 17)

*PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED*

Please see our "summer programs" tab for more info!

Give your child the chance to dive deeper into their interests with our Specialty Program Day at The Play Station! This full-day (6 hour), subject-focused experience is designed for school-aged children (entering kindergarten up to 10 years old) and offers an engaging mix of learning and play. Junior Arborist Adventures is run by Garrison Mull, who is one of the owners of The Play Station, but it also an ISA certified arborist with Dungrove Tree Service. This program will take place outside, at the climbing tree near the Milan Veteran's Memorial in front of Wilson Park. Drop off & pickup will take place here, unless the weather forces us to be indoors, in which case we will restructure our day and run the program in The Play Station. The schedule for this program is as follows:

9:00-9:30: Drop off/welcome

9:30-9:45: Safety instructions

9:45-10:45: First climb

10:45-11:15: Bathroom break* & snack

11:15-12:15: Second climb

12:15-1:00: Lunch & bathroom break

1:00-1:45: Learn about tying knots & deciduous vs. evergreen trees

1:45-2:45: Last climb/additional snack

2:45-3:00: Prepare for pickup

* We encourage children to use the bathroom whenever they need to. In addition, we build in scheduled breaks so each child has a chance to go without feeling rushed or distracted.

Children can be registered for individual program days based on their interests—no long-term commitment required.
